Free Virtual Creative Writing Workshops for Kids in Grades 4-8 Across Canada

Interactive workshops that help kids boost storytelling skills, spark creativity, and build writing confidence. Participants are also encouraged to enter our Kids Write 4 Kids contest — free to enter and open to young writers across Canada.

  • Virtual workshops take place every Saturday (excluding long weekends) from 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm for 1 hour.
  • Lesson plans developed by an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience.

I entered the Ripple Foundation’s KW4K contest three times. I didn’t win the first time, or the second, but I didn’t stop. I accepted that my writing wasn’t perfect and attended the Write It Workshops to learn from experts and improve my structure and clarity. I kept writing, kept learning, and on my third try, I finally won. Sometimes the path takes a little longer, but it’s worth every step.
